Future Islands - In Evening Air

This band would be like any typical new wave revival/indie pop artist, but what sets them apart is the lead singers voice. Imagine this: Captain Beefheart (rest his soul) singing for, oh I don't know, let's say Passion Pit if they slowed themselves down and played on a more serious tone. The result would sound pretty damn similar to this band.
This album is beautifully crafted, with the opening track Walking through that Door setting the tone for the record, track 3, Tin Man where the singer goes all out on his vocal delivery, and the title track In Evening Air which sounds like a song cut from the soundtrack to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The later tracks all blend perfectly together with tracks like Vireo's Eye and Inch of Dust seamlessly blend melancholy and optimism in pure musical form.
