Phantogram - Eyelid Movies

Disregard that I haven't posted anything in the past months please, anyway, let's review some music!

Okay, this is one of the seriously underrated albums of 2010. While everyone is creaming their pants over Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti or whatever flavour-of-the-month indie pop rock band is hyped on over at Pitchfork, this album went for the most part unnoticed, and that is a shame. A damn shame.

I discovered this band this past summer, as they were opening for Passion Pit, listened to their album the next day and was instantly in love with their sound. Their delightful mix of trip hop and psych-pop, along with the lead singers angelic voice pave the way for an unforgettable duo, which completely redeems the horrific trend of man-making-all-the-music-while-hot-chick-sings genre (Crystal Castles, Sleigh Bells, She & Him, & others).
This is the kind of album in which every song is different, distinctive in is own way, and yet the all share a warm familiarity with each other. It creates a magnificent blend of delicious music with very high repeatability, hell this albums almost been on repeat on my iTunes since this summer.
